Often, existing concrete structures will need to be examined and tested to ensure the concrete remains of adequate strength and durability. This test is used to determine the compressive strength of a concrete core, which has usually been extracted from an existing structure. The value of compressive strength can then be used in conjunction with other measured properties to assess the condition of the concrete. |

Low Temperature Water Bath
This water bath is used for maintaining 25 deg C with control accuracy of +/- 0.1 deg C for the penetration test as per IS:15462:2004. The bath is Double walled, inner chamber consisting of thick polished stainless steel with cooling coil duly soldered on the outside of the same to ensure perfect cooling effect to achieve low temp. up to + 5 deg c. The outer wall is of thick PCRC sheet duly pretreated and powder coated for longer life. The hollow space between the inner chamber and outer wall is filled with high grade insulation of thickness 75 mm to prevent loss of temperature. The refrigeration system consisting of Hermetically sealed ISI marked KIRLOSKAR OR EQUIVELENT make compressor for minimum noise level and smooth operation, Coupled with other quality components, it ensures a high degree of reliability over a long period. Heating system comprises of ISI marked immersion type heating element for attaining above ambient temperature. The unit is provided with a high performance circulation stirrer to circulate the inside fluid to ensure a constant and uniform temperature throughout. Temperature range 5 deg c to 50 deg c with PID digital temperature controller cum indicator. Chamber size. : 250 x 200 x 200 mm. |

Marshall Compactor (Automatic)
This Equipment is to speed up the process with ease and accuracy to prepare cylindrical specimens for Marshal Stability Testing Machine. The compactor has been designed to simulate hand compaction as described in ASTM D1559. This apparatus automatically compacts the sample and stops after preset number of blows has been completed. The Compactor gives Uniformly and accurately compacted marshal moulds for reliable testing. |

Marshall Stability Test Apparatus
Used for the measurement of resistance to plastic flow of cylindrical specimens of bituminous paving mixtures when tested in a marshal load frame. Test specimens are produced and tested at a speed of 50.8mm/min.The maximum load (stability) and deformation (flow) of the specimen are recorded. Generally the test is applicable to hot mix designs using bitumen and aggregate of maximum size of 25mm. Widely used for designing and evaluating bituminous paving mixes. |

Sampling Tubes
For collecting undisturbed samples of 38mm dia for Triaxial shear strength and Unconfined Compressive strength either straight from the field or from a sample of large diameter. The wall thickness is maintained approximately 1.6 mm with an area ratio approximately 17%. Both relieved and unrelieved sampling tubes are available. In the relieved type of tube, the internal diameter is relieved by about 0.5 mm (Inside clearance 2%, beyond approx. 19 mm length from the cutting edge of the tube. This is most suitable for highly cohesive soils. In the unrelieved type, the internal diameter is uniform throughout. This type is most suitable for soils of low cohesion. These 38 mm dia tubes are available in different lengths.) |

Standard Penetrometer
A depression is made in the sample by a needle of a definite weight, which is measured in tenths of a millimeter and expressed, as penetration number. A standard needle penetrates vertically under surcharge weight of 50 gm into a sample under test temperature at 250C for 5 seconds of duration. This test determines the consistency and thereby the grade of the bitumen. |
